1959 John Deere 630 Restored

My other picture showed this tractor being picked up in Kalona, Iowa, in October, 2010. My son & I drove 1500 miles in 24 hours from Knoxville, TN to Kalona, Iowa and back. I purchased new fenders & lights, battery box, seat cushions, steering wheel, muffler, front wheel, tires, front emblem, decals, etc. I steamcleaned the tractor 2-3 times, followed by sandblasting all the removable parts. I also bead-blasted a LOT of small parts in a blasting chamber. Then I SODAblasted the engine/main body, followed by an acid wash. We sprayed the engine/main body with an acrylic paint and the hood/fenders/flywheel cover with a urethane base coat clear coat. The tractor I drove as a young teenager did NOT look this nice! I have a fitted cover for it, as it is stored in a half-open barn. I start it every 2 weeks with REAL gas and let it run out of fuel. I believe my wife has agreed we need a trailer for hauling it to shows and parades. To finally have my favorite childhood tractor "to have and to hold" and in beautiful condition is all I hoped it would be.
