Mind Your Manners and Your Mouth

I received an e-mail from an individual who felt insulted while attending their local county fair this weekend. While admiring the antique tractors her family witnessed three antique tractor enthusiasts verbally expressing themselves inappropriately.

I realize it has become more common for individuals to engage in rough and vulgar language in public. That does not make it right, especially when you are representing your club, organization, or employer. You’re speaking for your club or group, whether you realize it or not, making each member guilty by association.

Antique tractor clubs are fun for the whole family and are generally a family event, young and old alike. I know that most antique tractor enthusiasts are passionate about the manufacturer they collect and many feel they are an expert, but do not become that person using profanity to get your point across.

If you belong to a club, please mention at your next meeting that using profanity at any public event is not tolerated. Do not let a few badly behaved individuals spoil your fun at your next antique tractor show, event or ride.
