In your opinion, what is the most valuable tractor in today's market -- and how would one find out that information?

You could ask that to 100 different people, and get a 100 different answers. Do you collect one certian manufacturer? Also how rare that model is and how few were made will reflect on value. I don't believe there is one right answer.

Good point as there is such a variety. I went to my first tractor show this fall and there were a handful of manufacturers with a variety of dates. With my untrained eye I couldn't distinguish the value of one from the other. My mom got me interested in Allis Chalmers since that's what my grandfather had. Would your antique tractor guide have that information - the most valuable Allis Chalmers tractors?

Our Antique Tractor Guide will have that information. We do have spec's and serial numbers on Allis Chalmers. As for pricing we give actual auction results, and retail pricing from people that have a tractor for sale. The tractors we are talking about are 30 to 50 years old. Therefore condition can vary a lot. Going by actual auction sales is a good indication of actual value. Another update for the 2009 Antique Tractor Guide is we are adding antique Combines.

I know that this forum concerns antique tractors, but one of my favorite things to do is restore vintage implements to their original looks and useability that I do use with my 900 Ford that I restored. In addition, I like to collect all the information I can about the implement. Right now I am working on a Case 2-bottom Eagle Hitch Plow. It is an interesting project. The moldboard is not only stamped with the Case stamp, but is also stamped with the Grand Detour stamp. Can anyone tell me where a guy could find the orginal '50's price list for this implement?

Thanks

Lowell

Each April in Le Sueur, Minnesota there is a swap meet. One of the vendors there has an extensive amount of literature. I don't know his name but maybe some of the readers know him.
This year the show is April 24-26. you can get more information at www.pioneerpowershow.com. Maybe even give them a call they might have a name for you.

I believe the fellows that Donna is talking about are Roger Zimmerman, Jerry Erickson, and Tom Paul. These fellows have been selling and buying old lit. for many years. They can be found in the NW corner of the Feature Bldg. during the swap meet.

Dave, If that the Firehouse bldg,The location sounds sounds right to me. I didn't make it up there last year. But it sounds like it was a cold one. But still a great show. There are a lot of hardcore shoppers there.

Lowell, hope one of these guys can help you out.
