1950 International Farmall H Creates a Special Bond Between Two Strangers
Steven Fechino of Hendersonville, Tennessee often saw this 1950 I H Farmall H when it was in use on the Lights Farmstead, plowing the fields. Several years later he noticed it parked. It sat between two building on the farm, rusting away. One day he stopped to look at it and was lucky enough to meet the owner, Mattie Light. Mattie’s husband passed away a few years before and the tractor was parked there between the buildings and nearly forgotten. They visited a bit about the tractor and looked it over and parted ways.
1940 Farmall H
Frederick Allmaras’s was a young child when his father Alfons purchased this new 1943 Farmall H. At the tender age of 6 Frederick learned to drive on this tractor. This was the main tractor for the Allmaras farm giving many years of service doing farm work. Alfons purchased the H at Haas Inc. in New Rockford, North Dakota in 1943. It was a very popular model and 390,000 were manufactured. The H has a four-cylinder gasoline engine with 3 3/8 X 4 ¼ “ bore and stroke.
